SKILL LAB
Our vision for the skill lab project was inspired by the disconnect between the current youth services available to help target child criminal exploitation and deprivation within the community with the hope that skill lab can be the intervention to make a difference in breaking the cycle.
We aim to raise aspirations of the young people, set and meet achievable goals and encourage them to make better decisions and life choices.
Services we provide
- Mentoring and positive role modelling through music and media to reduce the risk of child criminal exploitation through positive activities and giving young people an opportunity to develop skills and interests
- Life and social development skills support to young people to interact with the world outside their own including other ethnicities in turn reducing racism and promoting community cohesion.
- Support for transition into employment, training and raising aspirations, which will then break the cycle of deprivation. Working in partnership with business’ to offer incentives to young people taking part in the work programs.
- To offer a safe space for young people who are struggling with their mental health, an opportunity to work through issues and access appropriate support.
- Consultation to families and communities working with children with Autism and ADHD.
